Deciding When to Commit to Action During Observation-Based Coordination
نویسندگان
چکیده
We have developed a multiagent scheme which utilizes plan recognition as its primary means of acquiring the information necessary to coordinate the activities of agents. Pr~llmlnary research has demonstrated that the plan recognition system developed makes coordination of multiple agents possible. An important issue that arises when observation is the primary means of information acquisition is the introduction of uncertainty into the coordination process. We have explored the issue of early versus late commitment to the uncertain information thus gained and the resulting tradeof between time and effort as the commitment level is changed. Our results show that while in some situations it is worthwhile delaying commitment until uncertainty is reduced, in other situations it is important to act even when uncertainty is high. The longterm goal of the research is to develop the notion of coordination through observation, where agents utilize plan recognition to acquire coordination information.

Cooperative Benefit and Cost Games under Fairness Concerns
Solution concepts in cooperative games are based on either cost games or benefit games. Although cost games and benefit games are strategically equivalent, that is not the case in general for solution concepts. Motivated by this important observation, a new property called invariance property with respect to benefit/cost allocation is introduced in this paper. Since such a property can be regar...

متن کاملPROCESS CONTROL USING ASSUMED FUZZY TEST AND FUZZY ACCEPTANCE REGION
There are many situations for statistical process in which we have both random and vagueinformation. When uncertainty is due to fuzziness of information, fuzzy statistical control charts play animportant role in the monitoring process, because they simultaneously deal with both kinds of uncertainty.Dealing with fuzzy characteristics using classical methods may cause the loss of information and ...
متن کاملCorrelation between Trunk-Pelvis Inter-Segmental Coordination Parameters during Walking and Disability Level in Chronic Low Back Pain Patients
Background: Chronic low back pain (CLBP) disability has been particularly frustrating because its treatment has been a great therapeutic challenge. Disability has been suggested to depend on different factors that should be found and considered in the medical management. The inter-segmental coordination is often impaired in CLBP subjects; however, to the best of our knowledge, there is no evide...
